Sound effects are made by recording a sound that can be deceived for the sound it is supposed to be. For Jurassic Park The T-rex's breathing was a whale, the roar was a combination was a combination of Alligators, Lions, Tigers and Elephants, and it's grunt was a Koala! In The Perfect Storm the wind and waves sound was created by the sound of Lions and other animals roaring and the lapping of waves. In The Impossible the sounds of the Tsunami were made by the lapping of waves, grunts and roars of animals and the sounds of things crashing on a hard surface.
