The Perfect Storm

The Perfect Storm was directed by Wolfgang Peterson, written by William D. Wittliff and the book was written by Sebastian Junger. It stars George Clooney as Captain Billy Tyne, Mark Wahlberg as Bobby Shatford and Diane Lane as Christina Cotter.

The Plot of the story is that in 1991, A combination of weather conditions came together and formed a deadly storm in the North Atlantic called Hurricane Grace AKA 'The Perfect Storm'. Heading into the storm and later in it, was the sword-fishing boat The 'Andrea Gail'. The boys on board decide to head into the storm because they are 'men' and can handle a Hurricane. At home their families, children and wives wait for loved ones and a boat that never return.

What I thought of The Perfect Storm!
The music used in The Perfect Storm was suspenseful, sad, motivational, triumphant and heavy/loud all at different times. The only things I thought was a bit inaccurate was that they were standing in the Wheelhouse with glass windows all around it and the waves were hitting the windows and the pressure of the waves didn't break the windows which in real life wouldn't happen. I thought the rest of the movie was very accurate though and I thought that the way the people reacted and did things in the storm was exactly like what you would do in a Hurricane. The Hurricane portrayed was Hurricane grace. I thought the Natural Disaster was portrayed pretty accurately so I rate it a 9/10.
Special Effects!
In The Perfect Storm when the men fell overboard they fell into a tank with churning water! The movie was filmed with a large amount of water pouring onto the cast and with lots of green screening around the boat. The boat was placed on a big pool with green screens all around it.
The Effect the Music Had On the Movie!
I Thought that in both 'The Impossible' and 'The Perfect Storm' I thought the sound effects and music had a very strong effect on the movie and I think without them I wouldn't have come out of the movie feeling heavy and sad.
